My favorite place to practice singing at home is definitely my room! I can close the door and blast the music as loud as I want to!
Molly, tell us about The Wizard of Oz
The show is with my school: Kyrene Akimal A-al Middle School.
It will take a total of 10 weeks to prepare.
The Wizard of Oz has 38 cast members with 10 named leads, 6 understudies, and 22 ensemble members.
I have been cast as Dorothy so that is really exciting but very difficult for me!
Personally, my favorite part of this show is the Jitterbug dance because it is so energetic and fun and a great ending to the 1st act!
We will have 3 shows, one on February 24 and 25 at 7pm and a Saturday matinee on the 26th at 2:30.

About Molly
Musical theater has always been a part of my life! My mom grew up with that so there is always music and singing going on at my house. We all love the Wizard of Oz so deciding to sign up for auditions was a no brainer! (pun intended 😏)
In my opinion, the best musical of all time is definitely West Side Story and I still sob every time I watch it!

If you want to audition or perform, my best piece of advice is to just relax and have fun with it! Directors and audience members can tell when you're tense and stressed but if you walk in a room acting confident, you will do your best! Who cares if you mess up?
One fun fact about me is that I was actually in Valley Youth Theater's production of The Wizard of Oz when I was about 8 years old. I was a member of the Lullaby League in Munchkin Land. My friend, Cody, is also in this show and was a part of the Lollipop Guild back then too!
