Woodwind instruments are considered the storytellers of music with their expressive range of high and warm sounds.  The benefit of these instruments includes promoting: good posture, proper and healthy breathing, core strength and control, and finger dexterity.

Students have the opportunity to learn from our amazing instructors who can prepare you for school band,  jazz, folk, college audition and performances.  Most of all we hope you'll gain a love for the music!  Lessons include learning fingering, lip position, air pressure, and embouchure.  As well as advanced techniques such as breath support and tonguing.  Lessons include fingering, lip position, air pressure, and embouchure.

Who Will Be the Teacher?

 Our woodwind teachers are dedicated to learning about your personal music goals and helping you achieve them. During registration, we'll give you options based on your needs and availability. With our team we know we'll find theright teacher to meet your music lesson needs. Our teachers work collaboratively together to share their ideas and strengths. They have warm personalities, are friendly and dedicated to teaching you the style of music that you want to learn in your lesson.

What will I learn?

I need an Instrument. Do you Rent?

Yes, for your convenience, you can rent an instrument at our studio. We are a Milano's depot, so we have a variety of stringed instruments available for rental. The rentals are month-to-month, rent-to-own, so you earn equity towards a new instrument.

What other supplies do I need?

For Clarinet & Saxophone: Reeds, cleaning kit/swab, mouthpiece brush, & cork grease

For Flute: Cleaning rod, & cleaning cloth (microfibre or silver cleaning cloth)

Do I Need to Purchase Books?

Yes, you will need to purchase music. For your convenience, books and sheet music selected with your teacher will be added to your MMW monthly account.

When do you offer Lessons?

We are the only music school in Ahwatukee that offers lessons seven days a week. So we have many options. You'll receive a specific time with your teacher. Please choose a time you know you'll be able to attend each week.

Do you have Contracts?

The school does not require semester minimums for lessons. Every student here is on a month-to-month basis. We do ask for a 30-day notice if you'd like to discontinue lessons.

Where Do I Wait with My Other Kids?

There is a spacious waiting area with comfortable chairs, chess, games, Wi-Fi, magazines, snacks, and a beverage center, all available for your convenience. Each studio has a glass door, so it's easy to view into the classrooms at any time.

Will There Be Performance Opportunities?

Absolutely! The best way to get most of your investment is participation in recitals, showcases or gigs. We have biannual recitals held at Esperanza Church. We have many opportunities for students to perform at coffeehouses, restaurants, festivals and even parades.

How much do Recitals Cost?

$45.00 per performer and are free for friends and family to attend.

Do You Have Groups I can Play my Saxophone?

We have opportunities for woodwind students to audition for the MMW Jazz band. Meet other musicians because this is the best part of music-making!
