About
Overview: The cello choir is a unique ensemble that consists of multiple cellos playing together in harmony. The ensemble can include a range of skill levels, from beginners who are just getting familiar with the instrument to intermediate players who have a solid grasp of cello techniques and musical concepts.

Host Teacher: Ms. Andrea! Ms. Andrea has a Master's Degree in Music from ASU.

Objectives:

  • Skill Development: For beginners, the cello choir provides an opportunity to improve basic cello techniques such as bowing, fingering, and posture in a supportive group setting.
  • Ensemble Experience: Intermediate players can further develop their ability to play in sync with others, learning to listen and blend their sound within the ensemble.
  • Repertoire Exploration: The cello choir will explore a variety of musical genres, from classical to contemporary, allowing participants to broaden their musical horizons.

Activities:

  • Ensemble Music: Our music selections are thoughtfully curated with beginners in mind. The arrangements are designed to be approachable and showcase the beauty of the cello's sound, while still providing an enjoyable challenge.
  • Full Ensemble Rehearsals: The heart of the cello choir experience is coming together as a full ensemble to rehearse and polish pieces chosen for performance.
  • Performance Opportunity: This Session we will be showcasing our talent at the 2024 Spring Recital (Location TBD)

Designed for Ages 12+ that have experience playing.

Joining the Cello Choir: 
No auditions are necessary but all students must be enrolled in private lessons at the studio. Ms. Andrea will be able to determine if the student is ready to participate in the cello choir. This ensemble is open to cellists of all ages and backgrounds who are passionate about playing the cello and eager to learn in a collaborative setting. Whether you're a beginner excited to explore ensemble playing or an intermediate player seeking to refine your skills, the cello choir welcomes you.
