Sean – Multi-Instrument Instructor

Inspiring Students Through Versatile Music Instruction

Sean is a passionate multi-instrument instructor at Music Maker Workshops, teaching guitar, ukulele, bass & drums.  He brings extensive performance experience, a strong musical background, and enthusiasm for teaching students of all ages and skill levels.

Sean believes music should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience. He shares his passion for performing while helping students develop confidence, creativity, and a strong musical foundation.

Professional Performance Experience

Sean graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance, studying under the direction of Dom Moio. He has been a professional drummer for over 12 years in Tempe, Arizona, performing across a wide variety of musical styles, including rock, progressive rock, jazz, contemporary jazz, Latin music, and more.

During his time at ASU, Sean performed regularly in combos, big bands, and Latin ensembles with ASU Jazz faculty members including Michael Kocour, Dom Moio, Jeff Libman, and Bryon Ruth. He also performed with original groups such as the jazz ensemble Pictures of Cake and the Tempe progressive rock group Sasquanaut.

A Well-Rounded Musician and Educator

Sean continues to perform professionally with a classic rock cover band, playing music from artists such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Pink Floyd, and many others. His wide range of musical experiences allows him to bring different styles, techniques, and perspectives into his lessons.

In addition to drums, Sean focuses on piano, guitar, and vocals. He performs weekly at local churches, playing drums, acoustic guitar, and bass. His experience as a multi-instrumentalist helps students understand how different instruments work together and how musicians collaborate.

Helping Students Discover Their Musical Style

Sean is passionate about teaching and loves sharing his enthusiasm for music with his students. Whether a student is beginning their musical journey or continuing to develop their skills, Sean provides encouragement, guidance, and practical experience to help them grow as musicians.

Through his supportive teaching style and real-world performance background, Sean inspires students to explore music, build confidence, and enjoy the process of making music.
