Dr. Stephanie S. is a mezzo-soprano, performer, and voice and piano instructor known for her positive energy and caring approach. She enjoys building strong connections with her students and creating a supportive space where they feel comfortable learning and growing.

Dr. Stephanie believes everyone can sing and make music. She welcomes students of all ages, experience levels, genders, and backgrounds. Through personalized instruction, she helps students build confidence, develop healthy technique, and discover their own musical voice.

Personalized Voice and Piano Lessons

Dr. Stephanie takes time to understand each student’s goals, interests, and learning style. As a result, she creates lessons that are tailored to each student’s individual needs.

In voice lessons, students develop vocal technique, musical expression, and performance confidence. In piano lessons, students build skills in technique, music reading, theory, and musicianship.

She also prepares students for auditions, regional competitions, recitals, and other performance opportunities. Whether a student is just beginning or working toward an advanced goal, Dr. Stephanie provides guidance and encouragement every step of the way.

Developing Confident and Expressive Musicians

For over a decade, Dr. Stephanie has taught many styles and genres, including classical, musical theater, pop, and rock. She encourages students to explore different types of music while building a strong foundation through classical vocal technique.

In addition, she helps students grow as performers by focusing on expression, creativity, and confidence. Students are encouraged to challenge themselves, try new repertoire, and develop their own artistic style.

Professional Performance Experience

Dr. Stephanie is a versatile mezzo-soprano known for her engaging performances and memorable character work. She has performed throughout the Southwest and Los Angeles regions.

She has also been an Apprentice Artist with Sarasota Opera and PORTopera. In addition, she was a three-time Opera Fellow award recipient with the Aspen Opera Center.

Because of her professional performance experience, Dr. Stephanie brings valuable insight into her lessons. She helps students understand how technique, storytelling, and preparation come together in a successful performance.

Education and Professional Experience

Dr. Stephanie earned her Doctorate in Vocal Performance from Arizona State University. She currently serves as a Faculty Associate for the ASU Voice Area and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS).

Through her knowledge, encouragement, and personalized teaching style, Dr. Stephanie helps students become confident musicians who enjoy the lifelong journey of learning and performing music.
