Director of Piano Programming
Dr. Kuo leads the development of Music Maker Workshops’ piano curriculum. She ensures students receive a comprehensive and progressive education from beginner through advanced levels.
Additionally, she organizes the annual MMW Piano Competition and coordinates studio participation in local and statewide piano competitions. She also keeps families informed about performance opportunities, competition deadlines, and Arizona Study Program requirements. Because of this leadership and consistent instruction, her students regularly earn superior ratings, top placements, and recognition among Arizona’s highest-achieving young pianists.
Education and Professional Experience
Dr. Kuo earned her Doctorate in Music Composition from Texas Tech University. Her expertise includes piano performance, music theory, composition, music analysis, and creative musicianship. Furthermore, she teaches students of all ages, from beginners to advanced pianists.
Technology is also an important part of her teaching. Students learn with Logic Pro, Audacity, Reason, Finale, and other professional music software. These tools strengthen creativity, composition, and overall musical understanding.
Her musical journey began at the age of five. Later, she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Composition, with a minor in Piano Performance, from Tainan University of Technology in Taiwan.
Award-Winning Composer
Beyond teaching, Dr. Kuo is an accomplished composer. The International Society for Contemporary Music selected her composition Rowing with Straggling Hair for performances at major universities throughout Taiwan.
In addition, her composition Review received honors at the International Workshop on Computer Music Audio Technology. Likewise, Wave and Rowing with Straggling Hair earned recognition in Taiwan’s Literary and Artistic Creation Awards.
