Dr. Chulyoung Park – Classical Guitar Instructor
Dr. Chulyoung Park is an accomplished classical guitarist and guitar instructor based in Tempe, Arizona. He earned his Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Classical Guitar from Arizona State University (ASU). Originally from South Korea, he began playing guitar at a young age. He later studied under Chungjin Go before earning his Master of Music from Lee University.

Dr. Park is a joyful, patient, and encouraging teacher who enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities. He emphasizes strong fundamentals, proper technique, music reading, and expressive performance. His structured approach helps students build confidence while developing a lifelong love of music.
He follows a comprehensive curriculum and encourages students to participate in the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) examinations. ABRSM is an internationally recognized music certification program that provides students with clear goals, valuable performance experience, and globally respected credentials.
Education & Performance
While completing his doctoral studies at ASU, Dr. Park served as a Teaching Assistant and studied with internationally acclaimed guitarists Jiji and Dr. Martha Masters.
Dr. Park is an award-winning performer. He earned the Grand Prize at the Korea Guitar Association International Competition and won the Lee University Concerto Competition. His professional performance experience enriches every lesson and inspires students to pursue musical excellence.
Teaching Experience & Leadership
As a guitar instructor in the Phoenix area, Dr. Park has taught in university programs, private studios, and guitar ensembles. He is also the founder of the Arizona Korea Guitar Ensemble and El Mar Guitar Academy in Busan, South Korea.
