Looking for guitar, ukulele, bass, or audio production lessons in Ahwatukee? Allen M. is a passionate music ucator, performer, and the Rock Band Director at Music Maker Workshops. He provides engaging private lessons while leading MMW Rock Band Classes, helping students develop real-world musicianship, confidence, creativity, and performance skills
Allen teaches students of all ages and ability levels. His lessons focus on practical skills, strong fundamentals, and learning music that students enjoy. Each lesson is customized to match individual goals, whether students want to learn favorite songs, improve technique, prepare for performances, explore songwriting, or create their own music.
Audio Production and Creative Music Technology
In addition to instrumental instruction, Allen introduces students to the creative side of modern music production. Students can explore recording techniques, music creation, arranging, and the technology used by today’s musicians.
By combining traditional musicianship with modern tools, Allen helps students understand how music is created both on stage and in the studio.
Director of Rock Bands at Music Maker Workshops
Allen leads MMW Rock Band Classes in Ahwatukee, where students experience what it is like to play in a real band. Students learn how to collaborate, communicate musically, prepare songs, and perform together.
Rock Band provides students with opportunities to build stage confidence, strengthen listening skills, and discover the excitement of performing with others. In addition, Allen mentors both students and fellow instructors, helping support the continued growth of Music Maker Workshops’ music programs.
Education and Professional Performance Experience
Allen earned his Master of Music in Jazz Guitar Performance from Northern Illinois University in 2019, where he studied with modern guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque. He also earned his Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Studies, with an emphasis in trumpet and trombone, from Lincoln College in 2014.
As a professional musician, Allen performs as a solo guitarist and with a variety of ensembles. His experience includes many styles, including classical, jazz, blues, ska, Latin, rock, and contemporary music.
Because of his diverse performance background, Allen brings valuable real-world experience into his lessons. Students learn not only how to play their instruments but also how to become creative, confident musicians who can adapt to many styles and musical settings.
