Alex Leiferman is a talented drummer and dedicated music educator currently studying Jazz Performance at Arizona State University. He studies drum set with Grammy Award-winning jazz drummer Lewis Nash and trains alongside ASU’s distinguished jazz faculty, including Corcoran Holt, who has performed with Grammy-winning saxophonist Kenny Garrett.
Education & Musical Background
Alex began his musical journey in classical percussion during high school before transitioning to jazz performance at ASU. His diverse musical background gives him a strong technical foundation and the versatility to teach students of all ages and skill levels.
Professional Performance Experience
As an active professional musician, Alex performs throughout Arizona as a touring drummer. He regularly plays at weddings, restaurants, jazz clubs, and other live music venues. His real-world performance experience gives students valuable insight into performing with confidence, professionalism, and musicianship.
Rock Band Mentor & Summer Camp Instructor
In addition to teaching private drum lessons, Alex serves as a Rock Band Mentor at Music Maker Workshops. He coaches students in ensemble playing, stage presence, teamwork, and live performance while helping young musicians grow as confident performers.
Alex is also a popular Summer Music Camp Instructor. His vibrant personality, positive attitude, and enthusiasm make camp an exciting and memorable experience for students. He creates a welcoming environment where students feel encouraged to learn, collaborate, and have fun.
