Dr. Kuo is known for her high standards, she inspires students to excel while fostering a deep love for music. Her methodical approach includes creating customized plans for each student, ensuring their unique goals and abilities are met. Thoughtful and encouraging, she helps students consistently progress and achieve success. With her guidance, many students have advanced through levels while maintaining a high retention rate. She prepares many of her students for the Arizona Study Program.

She earned her Doctorate in Music Composition from Texas Tech University and has over a decade of teaching experience. She specializes in music theory, music analysis, piano, and composition. Dr. Kuo enjoys nurturing creativity in students of all ages. She integrates technology into lessons using tools like Logic ProAudacityReasonFinale, and more.

Dr. Kuo began playing piano at age 5. She earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Composition with a minor in Piano Performance from the Tainan University of Technology in Taiwan. Her composition Rowing with Straggling Hair won the 2006 International Society for Contemporary Music and was performed at major universities in Taiwan. Her piece Review earned recognition at the 2006 International Workshop on Computer Music Audio Technology. Other works, like Wave and Rowing with Straggling Hair, received honorary mentions in Taiwan’s Literary and Artistic Creation Awards.

Dr. Kuo’s passion, patience, and dedication make her an invaluable part of the Music Maker Workshops faculty. She inspires her students to thrive and achieve excellence.
