Dr. Kuo

Piano Instructor


Dr. Kuo has a Doctorate in Music Composition from Texas Tech University. She has such a passion for teaching students of all ages and is very patient.  Fostering a love for music and developing musical creativity brings her incredible joy. She has been teaching for over a decade and has specialized in music theory, music analysis, piano, and composition. Plus, she occasionally puts a unique spin on lessons utilizing technology such as Logic ProAudacity, Reason, Premier, Max/MSP, Finale, and Encore. Dr. Kuo started playing the piano at age 5. She received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in music composition with a minor in piano performance from the Tainan University of Technology in Taiwan. She performed her composition, “Rowing with Straggling Hair” at the National Taiwan Normal University and Soochow University. It was the winner of the 2006 International Society for Contemporary Music. Plus, she had an honorary mention at the 2005 Literary and Artistic Creation Award in the Ministry of Education and National Cultural Association. Her piece “Review” was performed at the National Taiwan Normal University when it is selected winner at 2006 International Workshop on Computer Music Audio Technology’s computer music collection. My composition, “Wave” is also honorary mention at 2004 Literary and Artistic Creation Award in Ministry of Education and National Cultural Association.To learn more about Dr. Kuo
