Dr. An
Master Violin Instructor
Dr. An is a gifted violinist, conductor, and educator with a passion for nurturing young musicians. With a Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance from Arizona State University—awarded with a Special Talent Scholarship—he brings both excellence and warmth to every lesson. His advanced training also includes an Artist Diploma from Texas Christian University and a Master of Music from Campbellsville University, both earned on full scholarships.
From leading his first ensemble at age 11 to earning top honors in national competitions, Dr. An has built a career that blends performance, scholarship, and mentorship. He has performed with renowned orchestras such as the San Angelo Symphony and the Fort Worth Symphony, and his teaching consistently leads students to high achievement. His students have gone on to serve as Concertmaster of the AMEA Middle School All-State Symphony Orchestra and earn seats in the Phoenix Youth Symphony and AMEA All-State Orchestra.
Dr. An is also a respected scholar, with a ProQuest-published treatise on violin left-hand technique and a YouTube video series designed to help students refine their skills. As co-founder of the Youth Orchestra at the Evangelical Formosan Church of Phoenix, he continues to lead and inspire young musicians in the community.
