It’s a Wrap! Summer Camps 2021
Thank you Ahwatukee
This was our 20th year of providing summer camp programming to the community of Ahwatukee. We did minimal advertising and all our camps were sold out at the beginning of the summer due to our loyal students and community families spreading the word.
What is Summer Camp?
We offered two main options for summer camp this year. For 5-10-year-olds we had Summer Music Camps & for 9-13 & 13-17 years old we offered the Vocal Intensive Camp.
Summer Music Camps: These unique camps allow students to choose three instruments to learn from: piano, guitar, voice, drums, or ukulele. Plus, there is a daily teacher feature, drum circles, crafts, and fun games! This camp is designed for students ages 5-10.
Vocal Intensive Camp: These camps were designed for notice to intermediate singers to foster a love of singing. During the 4-day vocal camps, students received coaching in breathing, posture, expression, and mic technique. The styles they used were pop, musical theatre, rock & contemporary. .
Wacky Wednesday Themes
Each Wednesday we all joined together to add fun to our weekly theme.
1st Week: Fun in the Jungle Animal Print
2nd Week: Hollywood Costumes
3rd Week: Yee Haw! Western Wear
4th Week: Funniest Socks for Pet Week
5th Week: Coolest Hat Day
Here are some pics highlighting some of our Wackiest moments.
Teacher Features
Forget about cellphones, computers or tv these students got Live Entertainment during snack time each day. The amazing team of teachers took turns showcases different instruments to the students. The teacher of the day performed and played on their own instrument of choice. This gave children an opportunity to sit back and learn and hear instruments from professional musicians.
Nothing but the best for these students.
Here are some pics of Mr. Allen showcasing the Guitar.
We Survived the Pandemic
Over the summer we decided to continue the mask mandate for our summer camps. Many of the campers were signed up in the knowledge that we would be continuing the extra precautions. So as mask mandates started to lift in Arizona we continued to wear them at the studio. Surprisingly we did not get much pushback. Honestly, the kids didn't mind, and their parents expressed their gratitude for the extra precautions.
We wore them and we not only survived the summer of 2021 we embraced the wackiness of it all and allowed ourselves to laugh. It was definitely a summer to remember! 🙂
Thanks Again for all who participated in summer 2021
We will post Summer 2022 camp info and details in the Spring. Registration opens May 1st, 2022.
